Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, I ventured to the Midwest for my undergraduate degree where I proudly became the fifth generation to graduate from Indiana University.

I earned a Master's of Biomedical Sciences and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, where I was awarded the Professional Excellence Award; awarded to a senior veterinary student who provides excellent customer service, is an outstanding team player, models professionalism and a positive attitude, and acts as a role model for others.

I then completed a small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University.

Completing a three-year cardiology residency at the University of Illinois, I achieved ACVIM board certification following residency.
